Obviously, shipping large packages like this comes at a price. This price will depend on a number of factors, such as:
• The weight and dimensions of the package; the heavier and bulkier e-scooters will cost more to ship.
• Destination journey; International deliveries are more expensive than UK ones, but we have a very economical European road service, that is very secure and fully tracked and signed for.
• Insurance; we always recommend you choose to cover your package for that extra peace of mind.

An essential part of ensuring your scooter has a successful shipment lies in making sure it's packaged correctly. Read on for our expert packing tips to ensure a safe journey to its destination.
Where possible, it is recommended that you use the original box and packaging of the items. Otherwise, you should purchase a shipping box designed for an e-scooter.
How to Package an electric scooter:
• Clean the scooter and ensure there is no damage before shipping.
• (If foldable) Fold the scooter and make sure it's firmly locked in place.
• Secure the handlebars and check they can't move.
• Remove detachable parts like mirrors or accessories, where possible.
• Place any small parts like screws in a labelled bag.
Battery packing:
• Ensure it is firmly mounted
• Add extra padding around the down tube/battery area.
Boxing the scooter:
• Add padding/cushioning to the base of the shipping box.
• Depending on the size of your box, lay the scooter flat or upright.
• Use extra padding for any delicate parts; handlebars, wheels, display panel etc.
• Make sure there is no empty space between the scooter and the box, use more padding if needed.
• Place any labelled bags that contain small parts inside the box.
• Add top padding and seal securely with heavy-duty tape.
Labelling:
• Write clearly on the shipping box "FRAGILE - ELECTRIC SCOOTER" and "THIS WAY UP" and attach the shipping label.
Final Checks before shipment:
• Shake the box of your e-scooter and make sure nothing inside is moving.
• Take a photo of the packed e-scooter before shipping (recommended for insurance purposes)
While most carriers have a fairly low limit on what they will cover, we offer comprehensive cover for high value items. So when making a booking with us, you can choose to add insurance for your e-scooter (some exclusions apply). Parcel insurance costs 2.00% of the declared value of the goods, subject to a minimum fee of £10.00 for the policy administration.

It will literally take just a few minutes to complete a parcel delivery booking from start to finish. We've kept the number of pages that you are required to fill out to an absolute minimum with no sneaky upselling at the checkout.
When making a parcel delivery booking with Overland Express you will have a choice of either Express or Road, Express deliveries are usually dispatched by Air. Road services, whilst slower, are also significantly cheaper than Express.
